Finding The Hidden InfoSec Story

Forbes article illustrates the truth behind The Analogies Project’s Founder first analogy: “The Case for Security Driving Prosperity”

Forbes recently published an article where a Swiss data centre reported a 40% increase in revenues, allegedly due to the growing concerns of individuals and organisations over government snooping and the subsequent threat to privacy.

In one of our project’s first analogies “The Case for Security Driving Prosperity” Founder Bruce Hallas drew a direct link between information security and economic and social prosperity in Switzerland. The Swiss recognised centuries ago that people would be willing to pay a premium for confidentiality around any asset including information and data. They built a strong, national brand based on privacy which leveraged this and ensured the underlying structures needed to deliver against this brand were in place.  These same challenges are faced by business and captains of industry, and those who aren’t already doing so, may want to ask what lessons can we learn from Switzerland.
