IT Security As The Body

IT security is the body. The eyes to see and to track threats.

The ears take in information about the world around it, to hear what is coming.

The skin the barrier, holding and defining the barriers of the body.

The mouth to communicate and welcome new ideas and solutions.

The arms and legs to quickly respond to threats and take action.

The blood sending nutrients and defending against internal threats.

All is guided by the brain, which takes in input from all components, analyses and finally makes the tough choices.

No part of the body is more important than the others. An injury or weakness in one affects all. The body is strongest when all parts work in harmony, communicating and focused on a common goal.

And that’s just how it should be with IT security.
